I am curious as to why so many persons would like to rid the world of its challenges magically? Our challenges and our responses to overcome them (hysteria or insight, egoism or altruism) are what has allowed our species to socially evolve. 

Our major problem is that few people are able to foresee the various future consequences of today’s choices and so we harm ourselves.  This is one of our evolutionary flaws. The other is our lack of rational insight and poor emotive understanding.

What we do as a group today will have drastic effects on our species today if we choose irresponsibly. Proactive or reactive increases in the world population over time is what will end our species.

I do hope this is teachable.
