Today Is Your Only Rational Concern

Hello, my dears.  I was unpacking some old books and came across a note it seems I wrote many years ago.  I think it is good advice, or at least so I was told by a lover of the past.

Today

There are two days in every week about which we need not worry.

The first is yesterday with its mistakes and cares, its aches and pains, its successes and mistakes.  Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.

The other is tomorrow with its possible adversities, blunders, and successes.  Until the sun rises once again, we need not worry about tomorrow for it is still unborn.

This leaves only one day . . . today.  All of us can fight the battle of just one day.

It is only when we add the burden of those two awful, presumed eternities, yesterday and tomorrow, that contentment will escape us.

So deal with today so to make a psychoistic and spiritual profit so to be prepared for a useful tomorrow. All that matters is the Now.

Blessings, Michael
