Fr K+,
I very much enjoyed the cave surah you referenced. It is most enlightening.
Ascribing both Good and Evil, in the traditional sense, to the Unfathomable Source, God, or even the first emanation into our universe, as the Neoplatonists and Kabbalists postulate, I find unsatisfactory for a number of reasons.
I have not been convinced that each universe progresses to the same endpoint–which I believe is full consciousness and life for the universal monad itself. A One made of the Many–equal but distinct, together but apart. The God Without can be considered the foundation for every universe, but I opine that in order to have even the smallest amount of true choice to mankind, choosing wholesome over unwholesome, the end point cannot be fully assured. This is where I differ from all established religions.
In the Beginning God made man in God’s Imago, now man must create the Imago fitting of God.
Hope you are well, lets chat one day.
Blessings, Michael
