Type III Reality (caveat)

In my last blog, I stressed that legitimate enlightenment only occurs in persons having succeeded in experiencing Actuality via an unadorned ergoegotic center. Normally, the ergoegotic center unknowingly clothes itself with one persona after another; each persona reigning as sovereign for the moment, many oblivious of its mates. Some of these personas are quite clever. associating with others of like mind and desire, and will utilize the ergoegotic center so to allow brief moments of pure consciousness to be experienced so to fed their egoism.

Remember, the ergoegotic center is not an ego state; it is simply an apparatus for connecting type II reality with pure consciousness in service of conscious evolution. As this center operates unconsciously, operating as a conduit for pure conscious, it feeds into type II reality whenever its ‘control value’ is jarred opened slightly by an ego state(s). A most dangerous situation.

Subsequently, if such ego states are dominant, that is, occupying the ergoegotic center for long durations of time, an individual’s type II reality will become inflated and grandiose. The individual will perceive itself as an enlightened being, creating a philosophy or theology so to explain Actuality (which is basically incorrect and ego-centered). Look around at the assortment of gurus coming to America, opening vast centers, and corrupting foolish seekers.

Inflated type II reality is the most common explanation as to why the state of enlightenment seems inconsistent between groups.

The only competent way to avoid inflating ones egoism and crystallizing a deviant type II reality is to learn to observe what is happening within the body, the emotions, and the thinking on a minute to minute basis. What events stimulate particular clusters of ego states to capture the ergoegotic center; how long do they persist; what do they want; what makes them leave and so on? Each possesses a myriad of ego states, egoistic and altruistic, self-aggrandizing or potentially conscious, all desiring to adorn the ergoegotic center.

For until an aspirant has seen the enemy and come to know the friend, he or she is incapable of finding personal methods so to diminish the effects of detrimental ego states and enhance those of more beneficial ones.

To learn how to keep the ergoegotic center unadorned, seekers must work diligently, applying super effort so to prevent recalcitrant ego states and self-aggrandizing personas from occupying the ergoegotic center. Rather like cleaning soot off a lantern glass.

Furthermore, an uninformed stream-enterer will fail to fully integrate his or her ‘moments of enlightening’ as the experience is contaminated by imposing his or her cultural-specific world views. Enlightenment is not a single final state of being and knowledge–but, a vast expanse which can never be fully realized in a single incarnation.

So dear Friends, be careful about the people you associate with during your search; for most teachers are false. If you are lucky and careful, you might actually find an opportunity with a real Initiate. Presuming such Initiate deems you capable of making a permanent soul!

Why You Believe in Unicorns and Trolls

In an earlier blog, I introduced the most direct reality experienced by higher mammals, including, primates and human beings. As you will recall, the sensory organs transmit information from the external physical world to the sensory and associated cortices of the brain. The brain processes such information, compares it to information stored in semantic and procedural memory, creates a virtual image mirroring the pertinent physical world, and back-projects such image so the virtual overlays the actual physical.

The validity of such neurally generated virtual images is amply proven by near perfect interobserver agreement between individually-generated overlays; speaking to the existence of a species-dependent ‘mental image operator’ (when illusion, delusion, and hallucination is absent). Moreover, science, as a discipline, would be an impossible endeavor without such concurrence, as to the actuality of the physical world.

As an infant develops, the parents actively encourage the child’s manual exploration of his or her surroundings. Such exploration being of paramount importance for crystallizing within the child the unshakeable conviction that he or she can operate and touch the physical. For the creation of such all-controlling conviction is needed for physical survival and eventual reproduction.

In mathematical terms, the conviction of the actuality of the physical world is similar to a prime axiom in arithmetic. Even more interesting, as in mathematical systems, one discovers that certain rules (theorems and corollaries) follow from the prime axioms of the system. Some seemingly true until disproved. In our individual cases, the false conviction that our virtual image worlds are self-existent.

For instance, between the waking hours of the developmental period for solidifying a child’s conviction of the actual existence of the physical; the child is experiencing a developing dreamtime. During dreaming, the child learns about the relationships between itself and its imaged dream world, as an actor and a recipient of actions. As the child continues to interact with this internal virtual copy of the physical world (which is hallucinated within), the child is unknowingly developing a strong conviction of the reality of the dreamworld as shown by their reactions to nightmares and such.

For during the early years, the child lacks the ability to clearly separate waking from dreaming experiences; and, as he or she unconsciously solidifies the connection between the actuality of the physical world and the pseudo-physical, he or she comes to believe that the entities and objects present in dreams are inherently arising from another ‘actual’ world.

In psychological terms, the child’s reasonable conviction in the actuality of the physical world is impressed upon, or contaminates, the virtual dream world and its ego states (Jung’s archetypes); so strongly that the child is absolutely conditioned to assign the same ‘conviction of actuality’ to its personal beliefs, prejudices, deities, and desires (without any verifiable foundation) as to the actual physical world.

The contamination of our common virtual image worlds with abstractions (thoughts, feelings, prejudice, hopes, and beliefs), coupled with the ‘difficult to shake’ inner feeling that our abstractions are actually true, is the source of all compatibility problems between individuals.

The only practical escape for an individual is via the development of type III reality; for type III reality erases the falseness of type II reality. But, escape requires finding an ‘escapee’ and convincing he or she to help you!
