EsoBites: Understanding the Higher Law of the Triangle (2)

Deep Rosicrucian Analyses Series

For the next few postings, we are going to explore the true importance of the Law of the Tetrahedron. Sometimes, teachers express this Law using a standard cross which is geometrically misleading as it is formed by simply projecting the resultant arm onto a true 2-dimensional space. In other words, the resultant arm is treated as fixed, forcing only a single kind of resultant.

Moreover, using a tetrahedron arising out of a triangle with a collapsed 3rd dimension is much closer to the truth as the quality of the resultant depends on the timing and efforts put into the creation.

Even though, we are drawing diagrams and symbols in the geometry of space (x,y,z), we are really referring to what is known in mathematics as ‘phase spaces.’ Phase spaces are arbitrary mappings of system observables into a hypothetical mental space imagined as a set of orthogonal axes representing each observable defining the dynamic state of the system over time. For instance, in dynamical systems the controlling equations are given in orthogonal axes representing position and momentum, or energy and time. It is not as confusing as it sounds once you get the hang of it.

So let us construct a working tetrahedron using the following orthogonal mental dimensions:

The first point of the triangle we shall label, ‘neural network processing,’ or ‘brain functioning.’ For the purposes of our discussion, this brain functioning includes sensory data input, memory input, association, evaluation, and motor planning. These are the SERPAs, or habitual thinking, feeling, and acting we discussed previously which just happen automatically. As this is the least complex level of mentality, we call it Level 1.

The second point, we label, ‘conscious awareness’ or ‘observing function.’ This function is experiences as a mental point from which a person knows that he or she knows, can see what is happening in the mindspace, or astral psychical world. Its function is integration of all that is know by the mind. This is where Real I is felt. As this is above the astral or psychic mind, we call it Level 3.

The third point we label, ‘creative source’ or ‘Nous.’ This function is superconscious and is the source for direct knowing, full understanding, and creation of new ideas. This we call Level 4.

If you now imagine our tetrahedron, the fourth point being on top is ordinary awareness and reactivity to events around us. We react and analyze what to do in our minds, but rarely experience the actual observer, or observing function. Our mindspace is not conscious of itself, unless consciousness is activated. This is Level 2.

I suggest that each of you get a blank piece of paper and a pen or pencil and actually draw this tetrahedron (isometric projections–look it up) and label the various points, as described within. What do you see looking? From where is energy flowing to? What does this tell us as to our minds? So many more questions. Write down your answers for this simple diagram, when understood, is the key to spiritual growth and the making of a soul-personality fit for permanence.

I suggest that you share your insights with the rest of us. This is a good method of group Work
