Fifth Teaching – The Two Paths to Liberation
[setting] We find Radha sitting by herself and sobbing. She tries to wipe her tears away, but they arise once again. Mother is passing by from the market and sees Radha crying. She walks over to her and sits down on her left side.
Mother: Darling, lay your head in my lap and use my hair to wipe your tears. Tell me why your heart carries such a sadness.
[setting] Radha takes her mother’s long, black hair into her hands and wipes away the tears. She lays her head in her mother’s lap so that she can see her mother’s face.
Radha: Oh, Mother. This morning Father was quite harsh with Krishna and myself. Krishna did not seem to mind for he left to play with his friends. I remained and thought about Father’s lesson and started to cry because sometimes I do not think he loves Krishna and myself. And it hurts me very much, Mother, I love Father with all my heart and all my soul.
[setting] Stroking Radha’s hair, Mother says,
Mother: Sweetheart, Father loves you and Krishna as much as he loves me. But, Father must be harsh, sometimes, so that you do not stray from the Holy Path. Let me explain.
When I teach the two of you, I teach as a Mother needs teach. For it is was I, who feed you from my breasts when infants. And you quickly learned to feel the love that came with my milk. This is why it is my obligation to oversee your studies of grammar and the early teachings. Just as my milk was the first food to nourish your body, heart, and mind, it was the food which was replaced by soft mush, and eventually, cow milk, ghee, cream, fruits, nuts, roots, and vegetables, each one provided to you at the proper time so to assure physical growth.
Radha: I still remember your milk, Mother, and the love that came within it.
Mother: Come little one, suckle me and I shall feed you as when you were my darling baby.
[setting] Mother uncovered her left breast and Radha took her nipple and drunk only for a minute and then stopped asking Mother,
Radha: Is it not wrong for me to suckle you? I am almost 10.
Mother: Of course not, little Radha. The Divine Mother never withholds her ever-full breast from any creature in need. Come, suckle some more until your heart is again happy and I shall explain more.
[setting] Radha suckles while Mother hums a lullaby. In a few minutes, Radha sits up and faces her Mother. Mother covers her breast and begins,
Mother: Radha, it is my duty to prepare you for what Father teaches. You find it easy to follow my teachings for such teachings are for your discursive reasoning and are age-relevant. It is similar to learning your ABCs and arithmetic–there is no controversy. Moreover, I am the Heart and the Heart teaches with love.
Your Father teaches from the place of Wisdom, my darling. Wisdom is not a simple matter to teach for many are the spiritual pathways devised by the Sages so to help different types of persons desiring to travel from the lower and middle worlds to the upper world, and even beyond. Wisdom must sometimes be harsh, but Father’s words are always given with supreme love. Your problem is that you understand a woman’s love, for such love is always personal. But you are blind to the Sage’s love. Therefore, you cannot feel the droplets of the deep ocean of unconditional love which Father splashes to you.
Personal love is easily understood, as it is a natural state of being for the two genders desire to be, but one, naturally. The two genders are, as when you experienced Lord Krishna and Lady Radhu joined in Eternal Union exuding waves of Bliss onto the Creation.
Unconditional Love is beyond the capacity of our human species, unless one is transformed so to possess a permanent soul seeking liberation via the ‘way of Krishna,’ or the ‘way of Brahman.’ The first path is the one of the Heart and so the followers are devotees filed with intoxicating love for Lord Krishna, or the One God, regardless of name and form in which such God is perceived. After mortal life is finished, they are not required to return and live in a wondrous state known as Brahmaloka until the end of time and space. These are the liberated souls, who out of pure love for God, willingly return to mortal existence as ‘remembrance soul seeds’ so to mature so to become seers and sages of the various paths. This is truly a sacrifice, as return is not guaranteed for any of them.
The second path is the ‘way of Brahman,’ or Wisdom. In this path, the seeker moves beyond the indescribable pleasures of Eternal Love and Bliss into the Pure Awareness, Pure Understanding, and Pure Knowledge of Brahman, the Imperishable, Unfathomable, Unlimited, Eternal, All-Encompassing Source. This is the world beyond the Eternal Bliss World of the Buddha and Consort, of Lord Krishna and Lady Radha, beyond the Incarnations of the Godhead Itself.
This Path is the most difficult of all paths to liberation. My path is the one of the heart and so I cannot teach Wisdom. Father knows both paths, but his inherent nature is the ‘way of Brahman.’ Though, Father is merged into Brahman, he purposely kept one pure desire so to allow him to remain within the mortal world. Father refused to give up his love for your Mother and so Father and I can fuel the easier path of Lord Krishna and Lady Radha. So, darling, your Father’s love is more refined than is mine and so he can love you even deeper than I do. So I do hope you now understand why Father works so to plant knowledge into your inner mind which are seeds for future thought. If he waited until you and your brother finished all of the preliminary studies, it would be too late.
This is why he instructs you far beyond the incarnate teachings of any holy Order.
Go find Father and tell him what we have discussed. Then, he will show you the utter infinitude of his love for you and your brother.
[setting] Radha leaves to find Father. She sees him feeding the song birds and runs up to him and gives him a great hug and kiss. She tells him what Mother taught. Father smiles and shows himself in his resplendent, divine form. Radha can do nothing, but recite Bhagavad Gita 11.18.
Radha: I recognize you as the supreme imperishable being, the ultimate truth to be known by the scriptures. You are the support of all creation; you are the eternal protector of the eternal religion; and you are the everlasting Supreme Divine Personality.
